The Global Forum for Journalism and Media (GFJM) offers membership to a wide range of individuals and media institutions, including journalists and media professionals, newspapers, magazines, television channels, radio stations, various journalism and media platforms, as well as relevant associations, organizations, and institutions
This aligns with the vision of the Global Forum for Journalism and Media (GFJM), which aims to promote freedom of expression, support free and independent media, and uphold the principles of free press and ethical journalism. It seeks to enhance professional practice in accordance with ethical values and international standards, contributing to the development of responsible public awareness and strengthening the role of media in serving truth and the public interest at local, regional, and international levels
Membership in the Global Forum for Journalism and Media (GFJM) includes three main types.
Honorary Membership * Active Membership * Associate Membership
Honorary Member
Honorary Member
This category is granted to individuals who have made distinguished contributions and provided significant services to the Global Forum for Journalism and Media (GFJM), to the journalism and media sector, to their countries, or to humanity in various fields — in recognition of their impactful roles and high-value social and humanitarian contributions.
Honorary membership does not require financial contributions or continuous participation in activities; however, it grants official recognition and appreciation from the Forum.
Honorary members receive an honorary membership certificate and the right to participate in events and initiatives upon invitation.
Active Member
Active Member
This category is granted to professionals and practitioners working in journalism and media, as well as individuals and institutions actively engaged in media-related fields who meet the membership requirements of the Global Forum for Journalism and Media (GFJM).
Active membership entails participation in the Forum’s activities, programs, and initiatives, along with contributing to its objectives and professional development efforts.
Active members may benefit from membership privileges, networking opportunities, professional events, capacity-building programs, and receive an official membership certificate.
Associate Member
Associate Membership
This category is designated for media enthusiasts and students of media departments, provided they are engaged in media practice or training at any media institution. Applicants for this membership must have a portfolio containing no fewer than three media works.
An associate member may transition to Active Membership upon graduation or after completing one year of professional work at a media institution, in addition to maintaining their personal media archive.
Legal Members
This membership is designated for legal professionals and specialists in human rights who seek to promote human rights values within media work. The legal member must have experience and qualifications in the field of human rights and a record of contributions that support the defense of freedoms and rights. The Forum aims to integrate these members into its activities to strengthen human rights awareness and achieve cooperation between journalism, media, and human rights
Individual Membership Approval
Required Documents for Individual Membership Approval
– Copy of the national ID card or passport (if requesting membership card delivery by mail).
– Copy of the media work ID card or an official letter of accreditation from the media organization.
– Personal photograph.
– Payment of the required fees (if requesting delivery of the membership card by mail).
In the Kingdom of Morocco, no application will be accepted unless proof of media work is provided, either through a professional media card or a recent letter from the media organization.
Media, Press, and Professional Institutions and Relevant Bodies
Required Documents for Non-Individual Entities
– Copy of the official licenses.
– An official letter from the organization’s management requesting membership, including all relevant details of the entity.

Termination of Membership
Membership shall be terminated in the following cases:
– Resignation or death.
– If the member loses any of the membership conditions.
– Dismissal by a decision of the management or the administrative authority in the following cases:
If the member commits an act that causes material or moral harm to the Forum.
If the member exploits their membership to achieve personal profit or benefit.
